Penn State World Campus students can benefit from a free resource designed to help them become more comfortable with the essential tech tools they will use for their courses.
Tech Camp is a noncredit, self-paced course available to all Penn State World Campus students that introduces the programs, software, and tools available to students at Penn State.
While you aren’t required to complete Tech Camp, we strongly encourage it because the course can help alleviate some of the anxiety that students — particularly new students, or those not confident about their tech skills — may have about using technology to succeed as an online student.
Some of the topics covered in Tech Camp include:
- Office 365 apps and tools available to all students, and how they can be useful to you in your courses
- how to store and organize your documents and other important files, with an emphasis on keeping them secure and accessible to you from a variety of devices and locations
- tactics for working on group projects with other students using virtual platforms and collaboration tools
- Penn State services and resources that can provide you with additional help and support
The course will also help you identify ways to find additional online resources that can help you with tech-related issues.
It’s easy to enroll in Tech Camp! Just sign up on this registration page to get started, and then you can participate in Tech Camp in the Canvas platform.
