With the technological developments in the health care industry, it’s important to set yourself apart by gaining the skills necessary to keep up with these advancements. With this is mind, the World Campus is excited to announce that we now offer a 9-credit undergraduate certificate program in nursing informatics.
This program combines nursing with information sciences, and is designed to provide you with valuable knowledge about informatics tools. If you are a registered nurse or pursuing the RN to bachelor of science in nursing, you may be especially interested in this program, as 6 of the 9 required credits may be applied towards electives in the RN to B.S. degree.
Courses in the certificate emphasize the use of informatics tools, such as electronic health records, clinical decision support tools, database management and data mining, patient safety technologies such as Bar Code Medication Administration (BCMA), RFID technologies, and smart pumps. Upon completion of this undergraduate certificate, you’ll have the opportunity for work in hospitals, health organizations, consulting firms, and other careers in the health care field.
Applications for courses during both summer and fall 2012 semesters are now being accepted.
