We were thrilled to have World Campus student Leslie Cano stop by the Outreach Building on Penn State’s University Park campus today for a visit! Leslie, who is pursuing a bachelor of arts in law and society, traveled here from San Antonio, TX, to visit Penn State in person.
During her visit, Leslie shared with us that she found a “new sense of inspiration” when she began her studies at the World Campus because she could “go to a big school without being on campus.” “I’m still a Penn State student, even in Texas,” Leslie shared proudly.
She has valued the flexibility of pursuing her degree online, as it has given her the opportunity to serve as a district intern for District 118 in San Antonio, TX, where she helps people from diverse backgrounds navigate their local government, while still taking courses.
After graduation this spring, Leslie plans to begin her master’s degree in Bicultural-Bilingual Studies at University of Texas at San Antonio. And after that, she plans to attend law school.
As for her visit to Penn State—she was making the most of it! From our meeting she was headed to the Berkey Creamery for ice cream, and she is thinking about climbing Mount Nittany tomorrow!
